Overdue update

digging for lunchIt seems like a century since the last blog. We’ve been busy with guests and heavy maintenance necessary from monsoon rains we experienced during March and April. No doubt the most precip in the past 30 years.

As mentioned in the previous blog the annual Vision Quest retreat had to be postponed until 2017. For many years we have hosted Hannelore and her very special retreats. ( Visit her video and info on our home page)   She is absolutely the best and we’ve heard nothing but praise from all participants over the years. I suspect the western economy, particularily that of Alberta, impacted her numbers . We most certainly look forward to hosting Hannelore and her guests next year.

So far this season it’s been relatively quiet in the “Inland Sea” ( Sechelt, Salmon and Narrows Inlets). The weather has been unpredictable  and unlike the hot dry summers we have become so accustomed to. No doubt, any day now, we will experience the normal hi-pressure system that usually arrives around mid-July and lasts till end of September. On the plus side there has been no fresh water shortage, no campfire ban and the shellfish are excellent.

Will be back soon!Wilderness retreat 154
